Why The Severs Centre Exists.
Our mission is to help as many active kids as possible manage and reduce symptoms associated with Sever’s disease through a focused, biomechanical approach to adolescent heel pain.
Sever’s disease can significantly impact a child’s ability to participate in sport, physical activity, and day-to-day life. Many families come to us after trying a range of different management approaches with varying results.
Our approach has been developed over a number of years, drawing on practitioner experience, collaboration with clinicians internationally, and emerging biomechanical and observational research relating to heel loading and adolescent heel pain.
Treatment at The Severs Centre is tailored to the individual child and may include assessment, education, activity modification advice, and orthotic intervention designed to reduce heel loading during activity.
We understand how frustrating Sever’s disease can be for both children and parents, and our goal is to help families better understand the condition and support children in remaining as active as possible where clinically appropriate.
